Effect of Bed Preparation on Native Wildflower Establishment, Weed Control, and Arthropod Presence

چکیده

Native flowering forbs plantings have been found to support diverse arthropod communities by providing year-round forage and refuge from prey chemical pollutants. Typically, pollinator habitats are planted seeds; however, poor establishment weed pressure often result in limited success of the planting. In this study, we evaluated two bed preparation techniques, a glyphosate treatment with no tillage soil fumigant (dazomet) determine their impact on herbaceous perennial transplants establishment, control, presence. Our results suggest that grown beds tilled treated dazomet exhibit greater growth, produce more blooms, experience reduced compared plants untilled glyphosate. We also method had effect activity, despite higher bloom counts prepared applications. This research indicates fifteen native examined majority attracted abundant insect populations, variations plant growth due treatments.

BIOLOGICAL CONTROL Influence of Commercially Available Wildflower Mixes on Beneficial Arthropod Abundance and Predation in Turfgrass

Conservation and augmentation of indigenous natural enemies are promising strategies for biologically based pest management in outdoor urban environments. This research sought to determine whether the addition of wildßower plantings would enhance the occurrence, abundance and impact of beneÞcial arthropods in the landscape, and to determine the potential compatibility of pest-resistant turfgras...

Effect of living mulches and conventional methods of weed control on weed occurrence and nutrient uptake in potato

The aim of the study was to determine the biomass, abundance and species composition ofweeds, as well as macroelement uptake in potato weeded using mechanical, mechanical–chemical and mechanical control combined with the sowing of living mulches of white mustard, common vetch, Persian clover and tansy phacelia. Abundance and biomass of the weeds was themost effectively limited by the mechanical ...
